Director of Software Applications Engineering at Landbase

As a Director of Software Applications Engineering you will:

  • Lead a team of 4-5 software engineers.
  • Contribute 50-60% of your time to non-blocking software development.
  • Drive the proper SDLC process within the team.
  • Partner and coordinate effectively with the product team and broader engineering team based in the US.
  • Support their product in production.
  • Handle ambiguity well, bringing stability and consistency to the team.
  • Be comfortable learning new technologies and responsibilities, helping to unblock and advance the team.
  • Be excited to work in an early-stage startup, impacting the team and company with your contributions

Software Development Experience:

  • 7 – 8 years in software development
  • At least 4 – 5 years at a product development company and on a particular product of a company that is customer-facing.
  • Highly proficient  in backend node.js development at least 2 – 3 years of commercial experience.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience as a technical lead responsible for the team’s technical designs, architecture, and code quality.
  • Fullstack engineer but more comfortable and focused on the backend.
  • 5 years of experience with relational databases
  • Experience in supporting SaaS applications in production.

Management Experience:

  • 2 – 3 years managing a team of 4 – 7 people.
  • Experience in going through at least 2 years of performance management cycles.
  • Experience hiring and managing out.
  • Ideally, some experience leading scrum, won’t be needed on day one but eventually.
  • Experience contributing to creating engineering roadmaps and product roadmaps.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Some start-up experience and larger company experience from US based companies in Europe.
  • Experience with some infrastructure in Google Cloud (GCP)
  • Worked on a sales/marketing product or an outbound sales engagement product.
  • Worked on a product that used machine learning

Salary Breakdown (based on country):

  • Poland: $100,000 – $160,000
  • Romania: $90,000 – $150,000
  • Czech Republic: $90,000 – $150,000
  • Hungary: $90,000 – $150,000
  • Georgia: $80,000 – $140,000

Daniel was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 list, has been recognized by Goldman Sachs as one of the most exceptional entrepreneurs and is a frequent speaker at prominent industry conferences, including Web Summit, CogX, CeBIT, and MWC. He advises Fortune 500 executives on software distribution and cloud strategies. Daniel graduated from McGill University and sits on the Principal’s International Advisory Board. Daniel’s passion now drives him to lead Landbase, a stealth AI company.
  • CPO – Emily Zhang
    • Emily is the Chief Product Officer at Landbase. In this role, Emily is responsible for product strategy and development, user experience, and customer success. She brings over 15 years of experience in product development and business strategy. Before Landbase, Emily was on the founding team at Oyster HR where she led the product and design teams. Oyster HR reached unicorn status in under two years. Emily holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.Com/LLB from the University of Sydney in Australia.
  • CTO – Raheem Syed
    • Raheem is a technology executive with over 15 years of experience in B2B SaaS. He was a founding team member of Wolfram Cloud, the SaaS offering for Mathematica’s computational desktop software. At AppDirect, Raheem built and scaled technology and team for their subscription commerce & billing platform, handling multi-billion dollars in GMV yearly. Partnering with many global enterprises, such as ADP, Deutsche Telekom, and Vodafone, in their digital transformation journey in SaaS. He studied and researched at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, holding a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
  • CGO – Yi Jin
    • Dr. Yi Jin, a seasoned executive with over 15 years in AI, Data Science, and B2B Data, specializes in Growth and Demand Generation. With extensive experience in B2B Sales and Marketing, Yi has successfully serviced over 350 clients, including industry leaders like Snowflake (NYSE: SNOW) and Mongo (NYSE: MDB). As a co-founder of EverString Technology, a pivotal B2B lead scoring firm acquired by ZoomInfo (NYSE: ZI), Yi’s innovative approach led to three patents in Lead Generation and Engagement Recommendation. Yi holds a Marketing degree from Harvard Business School and a Ph.D. in ECE from George Washington University. In his spare time, Yi is passionate about mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs.
  • CDS – Hua Gao 
    • Hua is the Chief Data Scientist at Landbase. Prior to Landbase, he held technology leadership roles as Director of Machine Learning at ZoomInfo and Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of EverString Technology. He has over 15 years of experience in large-scale machine learning, deep learning, and big data, specializing in natural language processing and generative AI applied to B2B data, sales, marketing, and revenue operations. Hua earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University as a Cadence Design Systems Fellow and BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Columbia University.
