Backend Data Engineer at Cherre

As a Backend Data Engineer you will:
- Develop and implement scalable ETL processes to manage real estate data at scale
- Design and optimize data warehouse solutions to support ETL pipelines and data analytics
- Write efficient SQL/NoSQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions, and analytic functions
- Own features end-to-end: develop, test, deploy to production, and maintain long-term stability
- Help evolve Cherre’s data platform by driving improvements in architecture, tooling, and best practices
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to translate business needs into data solutions
- Ensure quality and performance through rigorous unit testing and system monitoring
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have 5–8 years of experience in Data Engineering or Backend development
- Hold a BS in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Are proficient in Python (or Java) and comfortable working across service-oriented architectures
- Have strong experience with data modeling techniques (3NF, dimensional, etc.) and database technologies like PostgreSQL or BigQuery
- Have experience working with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift)
- Have worked with modern transformation tools such as dbt or Dataform
- Understand distributed systems and scalable storage solutions
- Communicate clearly in both technical and non-technical contexts and thrive in ambiguous environments
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience with Airflow, Docker, and/or Kubernetes
- Are familiar with real estate or financial data domains
- Have experience in Agile teams focused on rapid iteration and DevOps practices
- Know your way around cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
