Aviation Civil Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to take on growing responsibilities in the design and management of landside civil engineering projects supporting aviation clients. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering project status updates, coordinating with clients and subconsultants, and contributing to all phases of design and planning.

Assignments may include, but are not limited to:

• Construction drawing preparation

• Construction cost estimating

• Technical specification development

• Internal and external meeting coordination

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Develop contract documents (Plans, Specifications, Estimates)

• Organize and lead project meetings

• Maintain and update department standards and quality control procedures

• Analyze survey reports, maps, blueprints, aerial photography, and other data

• Perform design computations

• Coordinate and manage sub-consultants and in-house disciplines

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer/MicroStation

• Strong construction cost estimating skills

• Technical specification writing

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars, Engineering Briefs, and Orders

• Experience with DoD Unified Facilities Criteria

• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., scheduling, budgeting)

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field (from an accredited institution)

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent

• 4–8 years of civil design experience

• Proven task management experience

Preferred Experience:

• Prior supervisory role on civil engineering project tasks

• Experience with road/highway design

Additional Information:

Work is primarily performed in an office setting with occasional standing and walking. The environment is generally quiet and free from hazardous conditions.
